Jim Laughlin (born 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former NFL and college football player. Graduate of Charles F. Brush High school in 1976.

The eighth pick in the 4th round of the 1980 NFL Draft (91st overall) by the Atlanta Falcons, Laughlin, was one in a long line of standout Linebackers to have played for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Career Highlights/Notes

As a team captain during his senior year (1979), Laughlin (along with Ernie Andria) had a share in a blocked punt against Michigan during the final moments of the game, which was returned for a touchdown by Todd Bell. The play put the Buckeyes on top 18-15, sending the team to the 1980 Rose Bowl.

Played his high school football at Charles F. Brush High School in his hometown. Lyndhurst, Ohio.

A 1979 National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame Scholarship winner, which is awarded annually to the top 13 players in college football.
